Who are Maunder's school of music?
Maunder's school of music is a privately owned music school started from scratch by Neil Maunder in 2008. Neil is a professional musician and teacher who wanted to create an ideal place for people to learn instruments. The school caters for all age groups and abilities and for all types of students. We work endlessly to make the school the best place for people, equally for people learning as a hobby or professional musicians and every level along the way.
How long does it take to learn?
We get asked this all the time and its almost impossible to answer. Your improvement on any instrument is largely up to your practice time. We will give you the maximum support during your lessons to give you materials that will best suit your learning but the rate of progress can vary from learner to learner based on practice time, experience, age and natural ability.
People starting from scratch will see a big improvement in their first block of lessons with practice. To become a master of an instrument takes many years (often 100000 hours of practice to get advanced).
How can I pay?
You can pay by either credit/debit card or cash
Why do you need 24 hours notice to cancel a lesson?
What if I have a holiday in the middle of a block of lessons?
No problem. As long as you let us know at least 24 hours before your lesson that you will be away we can simply move that lesson along a week or two.
What's the format of the lessons?
Instrumental lessons are all one to one. You will have the same teacher every week. This is the best format for learning an instrument.
How long is my lesson going to be?
1 to 1. We offer either 30 minute or 60 minute lessons. It's entirely up to the student which lesson length you choose but we recommend shorter lessons for children under 11 and for absolute beginners.
When can I have a lesson?
We will always try our best to find a slot that works for you. We are open weekday afternoons and evenings until 9pm. We also open Saturdays all day from 9:30am
I'm Looking for musicians to play for exposure at my Wedding or Event. Do you have any students who are looking to gain 'valuable experience'?
